California State University, Northridge continues to be recognized for its commitment to providing opportunities for anyone who wants to pursue higher education.
CSUN has been named a 2021 Equity Champion for Higher Education by the Campaign for College Opportunity, due to the university’s exemplary work in enrolling Latinx Associate Degree for Transfer earners — students who attend community college for two years with the purpose of transferring to a university by their junior year.
California’s Associate Degree for Transfer program was created in 2010 and gives eligible students who earn the associate degree a guaranteed spot at a CSU or other participating institution.
The Campaign for College Opportunity is a coalition of three organizations — the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, the California Business Roundtable, and the Community College League of California. It was founded to help ensure that all eligible and motivated students in California have an opportunity to go to college and succeed.
