Happy new school year, Matadors! Monday, Aug. 25, was the first weekday of fall 2025 classes — and, as always, supporters and friends were on campus to lend a hand. They included members of Associated Students, who gave away lots of free goodies, such as highlighters, keychains, stickers and, most important, snacks! CSUN Navigators were out in force, too — the faculty and staff volunteers offered directions, cold water and plenty of encouragement. This year, CSUN welcomes nearly 5,300 freshmen and 4,300 transfer students to campus!

A few pro tips, Matadors: The first weeks of classes are typically hot — temps climbed into the upper 90s this week, so don’t forget your water bottles. There are lots of places to fill ’em up. The University Library and the Oasis Wellness Center are great places to cool off. There’s also a gorgeous pool at the Student Recreation Center.

Don’t forget to have some fun: Check out the University Student Union Calendar for upcoming events (like Matador Nights, don’t miss it!), and Meet the Clubs is coming up Sept. 2 – 3. But first, check out these photos from the first Monday of classes.
