CSUN nursing student Daniela Muriel moved from Colombia to Los Angeles and became the first in her family to graduate from an American university. Her mother’s path to becoming a doctor and her grandfather’s cancer diagnosis made nursing feel personal and career shaping. The path wasn’t straight: at multiple community colleges she hit roadblocks, retook classes and waited on credit reviews until she found her footing at Northridge: “When CSUN accepted my credits and guided the process, I finally saw the light.” A competitive review led to her place in a cohort of 50. With past credits applied toward her degree, a clear advising plan from CSUN and early clinical preparation, Daniela built the vital clinical skills and momentum needed to achieve a career in nursing.
