CSUN has its very own tradition for students who wish to mark significant achievements. It’s called “The Tradition of the Rose.”
Karroum, a rising senior, and Khan, a graduate student studying public health, spoke with CSUN Newsroom about their roles. The conversation shed light on how deeply personal experiences influence their approaches to leadership and the upcoming projects they are passionate about this academic year, such as unity among students.
Amidst bustling sidewalks, buzzing classrooms and students’ full calendars of extracurriculars, a sanctuary and workshop beckons from the Sequoia Courtyard, within Sequoia Hall. Established in 2022 in the College of Health and Human Development, CSUN’s Tea Haven promotes stress management and supports mental health using creative arts modalities.

With warm weather finally here and Summer Term underway, many locals are looking forward to fun and relaxing summer activities.
For the month of May, CSUN celebrates Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month, honoring the cultures, history and contributions of individuals from countries across the entire Asian continent, as well as the Pacific Islands of Melanesia, Micronesia and Polynesia.
Next fall, the campus community will welcome thousands of incoming first-time freshmen for the fall 2024 semester. Among them will be 12 students who make up the third cohort of the Black Scholars Matter (BSM) program.
Commencement season at CSUN never fails to disappoint, and 2024 has been no exception: Eight joyous ceremonies kicked off May 11 with Honors Convocation, and continued May 17-20 as graduates from eight colleges crossed the stage.
