California State University, Northridge’s 40th annual Powwow returns to campus on Saturday, Nov. 29, in celebration of the American Indian communities of Los Angeles County and throughout Southern California.
The celebration will take place on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 3 to 10 p.m. at the Chicano House, located north of the University Library on the west side of the campus at 18111 Nordhoff St., Northridge.
The CSUN Symphony Orchestra played a live-to-film concert to the movie “Toy Story,” highlighting the link between the Mike Curb College and The Soraya.
Four separate events will take place in different locations across campus located at 18111 Nordhoff St. in Northridge, all providing attendees with opportunities to learn and grow their knowledge about Africana studies.
California State University, Northridge’s College of Social and Behavioral Sciences will host CSUN’s fourth annual BikeFest on Sunday, Nov. 2 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. BikeFest is free and open to the public.
A special fall edition of the Associated Students’ “Big Show” featuring Galantis captivated the crowd on the University Library Lawn.
The ceremony will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. The event begins with a brief dedication and ribbon cutting in Sierra Tower 404.
All film showings will take place on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. in the Armer Screening Room, located in Manzanita Hall.
Performers brought history to life as part of Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations with a performance of “August 29.” The play honors journalist Ruben Salazar, whose death in 1970 in East Los Angeles galvanized a generation.
