California State University, Northridge has appointed Chad Hilligus as the new executive and artistic director of the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts, known as The Soraya, a nationally recognized performing arts venue.
The scene shop in The Soraya was designed as a learning space for students in the Mike Curb College.
The CSUN Symphony Orchestra played a live-to-film concert to the movie “Toy Story,” highlighting the link between the Mike Curb College and The Soraya.
The performance will take place on Thursday, April 17 at 8 p.m. and is located at CSUN’s Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts (The Soraya) located at 18111 Nordhoff St. in Northridge.

Honoring the conclusion of Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15-Oct. 15) and the beginning of Día de los Muertos, Orquesta Folclórica Nacional de México is scheduled to perform “Coco” for a live-to-film concert at The Soraya on Oct. 26-27.
The Soraya’s Bayramian internships give students across campus — including those from the Mike Curb College — a chance to contribute to a season of performances at the world-class performing arts venue.
The Soraya honored CSUN President Emerita Jolene Koester and violinist Joshua Bell at a gala to raise funds for a new music and arts education endowment.
