For all CSUN students, the Student Academic Calendar is always helpful.

March 20-26: Spring Recess (aka Spring Break)

March 31: Cesar Chavez Day. Campus is closed for the state holiday. 

May 12: Last day of formal instruction. 

May 13-19: Final Exams.

May 25: Last day of academic year.

May 29: Memorial Day holiday. Campus is closed.

May 30: Summer classes for sessions 1 and 2 begin.

For Graduating Seniors, the CSUN Commencement and document deadline pages are key resources. Here are some important dates for graduates:

Commencement Ticket Information 

March 1-April 14: Download and/or email your Commencement tickets for loved ones (tickets are free of charge but limited). 

Cap and Gown Information (Information from Herff Jones, Graduation Suppliers) 

Cap/Gown Rental home shipped in 10-15 days for $16.95. 

April 16: Cap/Gown Rental home shipping fee increases to $24.95.

April 30: Cap/Gown Rental Home Shipping closes.

May 8: Pre-Ordered Cap/Gown Pick-up at CSUN Campus Store

May 9: Walk-in Cap/Gown Rental Opens at CSUN Campus Store 

May 13: Honors Convocation, 6 p.m., Library Lawn. Tickets required. 

July 28: Last day to submit documents and confirm awarding of bachelor’s degrees for Spring 2023. 

May 19-25: Commencement Ceremonies
The commencement ceremonies page includes dates and times of commencement ceremonies by college, as well as numerous cultural celebrations, such as Black Graduation, Rainbow Graduation and hooding ceremonies for master’s and doctoral graduates.
