The Matador spirit was in full force as several hundred members of the CSUN faculty, staff, and their families filled the Student Recreation Center with laughter, dance moves, and community pride at the annual Summer Celebration on June 27, 2025.

CSUN President Erika D. Beck kicked off the festivities with a warm welcome in the MatArena on the SRC’s second floor. In what’s become an annual tradition, she then invited everyone to join her for a dance party to launch the afternoon event.

Attendees enjoyed dancing to lively DJ sets, posing with props at a photo booth, and climbing the towering rock wall that dominates the SRC’s lobby. Cheeseburger and chicken sliders were on the menu and Matadors gathered around for the ever-popular raffle give-away. The celebration also included a food drive, and guests were encouraged to donate canned goods or personal hygiene items in support of the CSUN Food Pantry. This annual event is sponsored by the University Corporation, the CSUN Foundation and the University Student Union. Check out the highlights in photos.
