CSUN has been ranked with some of the most prestigious universities in the country for its online education.

The website OnlineU recently ranked CSUN’s online master’s program No. 6 in the nation, after Fordham University; University of California, Berkeley; Northwestern University; Columbia University and Johns Hopkins University.

OnlineU, a branch of the education research company Optimal — which seeks to improve students’ collegiate experience and post-college careers — created the rankings by comparing each school’s return on investment (ROI).

Out of the 25 universities included in this ranking, CSUN earned an ROI score of 84.1%. To determine each school’s ROI, OnlineU gathered information from the U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard and analyzed graduates’ salaries and debt payments 10 years after graduation. Each degree program’s 10-year ROI average was compared to all other qualifying programs in the same field.

Accredited schools having the highest average ROI and offering a minimum of three online master’s programs, in various subject areas, were considered for this list.
