On February 20, CSUN’s College of Health and Human Development proudly celebrated this year’s Campanella Scholars with a luncheon on campus at the Orchard Conference Center. Ten outstanding physical therapy students were honored with scholarships generously awarded by the Roy and Roxie Campanella Foundation and the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation.

Joni Campanella, daughter of former Dodger Roy and Roxie Campanella, was on hand to personally congratulate the scholars. Representatives from the Dodgers Foundation also joined in recognizing the students’ hard work and bright futures.

The 2026 scholarship recipients are: Matias Ramirez, Paige Harrington, Edward Balayan, Eloisa Chicas, Johan Portillo, Nicholas Cando, Regan Laubscher, Shabeer Fauzi, Carter McDonald, and Richard Eng.

The excitement will continue this spring with a time-honored tradition — the scholars will be recognized on the field at Dodger Stadium during an April game.

The Campanella Foundation and the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation share an enduring partnership with CSUN. Since 2005, they have supported aspiring physical therapists through scholarships, and since 2010, the Dodgers have welcomed a CSUN physical therapy student each year to intern with the team’s medical staff, providing invaluable, hands-on professional experience.
