One will be able to hear the cheers emanating from the center of California State University, Northridge’s campus from blocks away later this month as thousands of graduates cross the stage in front of CSUN’s iconic University Library as the university celebrates its 2026 commencement.
An interdisciplinary team took home the $10,000 top prize at the 2026 Jeff Marine Bull Ring New Venture Competition final event on April 23. The winning pitch: A streaming platform dedicated to independent films.
The $110,000 gift comes from the New Hope Foundation, which works to create opportunities for individuals and families in need.
CSUN will confer Sherrills’ honorary doctorate at the commencement ceremony for the College of Health and Human Development on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 8 a.m.
