About 1,000 new freshmen are settling into their new homes this week at the University Park Apartments and Suites on the north side of campus. Saturday, Aug. 24 was move-in day for many students, who arrived toting suitcases, comfy pillows and mini-fridges.

CSUN has its very own tradition for students who wish to mark significant achievements. It’s called “The Tradition of the Rose.”

Returning students, professors and staff give advice for those just starting out at CSUN.

Longtime CSUN lecturer and pioneering civil rights activist the Rev. James M. Lawson, Jr. has died. Lawson taught theories and practices of nonviolent activism.

The CSUN Faculty Senate celebrated outstanding educators and their many achievements at the annual Honored Faculty Awards Reception, which took place May 10 at the Orchard Conference Center.

A variety of apps, a video game, an inter-satellite optical communication system, a “lifeguard” drone designed to detect swimmers in distress… These were just some of the student creations on display at the 15th annual Senior Design Project Showcase.

Next fall, the campus community will welcome thousands of incoming first-time freshmen for the fall 2024 semester. Among them will be 12 students who make up the third cohort of the Black Scholars Matter (BSM) program.

Four honorary doctorates were awarded at three of the CSUN’s seven commencement ceremonies. All four recipients are CSUN alumni, have built successful careers and have given back to the CSU system and CSUN.
