Graphic advertising show celebrating anniversary of Woodstock '94

Legendary DJ Nic Harcourt spent months in 1994 lining up local bands, juggling schedules and helping to pull off what many thought impossible: Woodstock ’94, a three-day music festival marking the 25th anniversary of the music festival that changed the world.

Thirty years later, Harcourt and his morning show co-host Jet at The SoCal Sound — 88.5-FM, Southern California’s leading Triple-A (adult album alternative) format radio station — will celebrate Generation X’s Woodstock at 9 a.m. from Aug. 12 through 14 by playing music from the bands who appeared at the 1994 festival that took place on Winston Farm, Saugerties in upstate New York.

“Woodstock ’94 was and remains a highlight of my career — from being involved in early Saugerties Chamber of Commerce meetings in support of the festival, to helping select the local bands who kicked the whole thing off, and then being on air live from a “Magic Bus’ studio on site throughout the show,” said Harcourt, who was live on air throughout the festival live on Radio Woodstock.  “It was a magical experience.”

“Mornings with Nic Harcourt and Jet” airs weekdays from 6 to 10 a.m. on The SoCal Sound.

88.5-FM, The SoCal Sound, is a combined effort of California State University, Northridge, and Saddleback College, which began simulcasting as 88.5-FM in October 2017, linking the Los Angeles County- and Orange County-based signals. The station’s Triple-A programming is available on the KCSN and KSBR 88.5 HD1 channels, via the 88.5 app and online at www.TheSoCalSound.org.
