From the university classroom to the Emmy stage, alumna Brooke Noska ’14 (CTVA – TV Production) is making her mark in Hollywood as part of the visual effects (VFX) team behind the superhero series “Spider-Noir.” Noska, who was the VFX producer on the show, and 11 of her colleagues captured the award for Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Single Episode category at the 78th Emmy Awards (creative arts) ceremony, on September 6 at the Peacock Theater at L.A. Live. It was the second of three nights of festivities honoring artistic and technical achievement in television. “Spider-Noir,” which debuted on Prime Video, received 10 Emmy nominations.
Since graduating with her bachelor’s degree from the Mike Curb College of Arts, Media and Communication, she’s gained impressive recognition for her work. In 2015, she was part of a team that won an Emmy for Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Supporting Role for its work on “American Horror Story: Freak Show.” In 2019, she was nominated for an Emmy for her visual effects work on the science fiction series “The Orville.”
Noska was also part of the inaugural cohort of Tseng College M.A. in Entertainment Industry Management.
The final Emmy Awards ceremony will be broadcast live on Monday, September 14, from Los Angeles. Nights one and two will be edited into a single broadcast that will air on Saturday, September 12, on FXX. It will be available to stream on Hulu the next day.
