CSUN has been awarded the Military Friendly Campus designation for 2021-22 by the Military Friendly® organization.
The organization has identified CSUN as a university that has a comprehensive and meaningful commitment to serving the military and veteran community, in terms of actual outcomes and impact.
CSUN provides many services on and off campus to students and alumni military members and veterans. For example, the Veterans Resource Center (VRC), opened on campus in 2012, assists CSUN students as they transition from military service to academic success by providing supportive services, resources and community-building events.
CSUN’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Clinic offers the Veteran Initiative Program (VIP), which provides free tax services for lower-income veterans in Los Angeles County.
The Veterans Alumni Chapter, one of CSUN’s 22 Alumni Chapters, provides professional development, networking and volunteer opportunities for Matadors post-graduation.
