Danny Bustos, a 26-year-old CSUN alumnus working in private equity, recently created the Bustos Family Scholarship to invest in the education of the next generation of Nazarian College students.
While at CSUN, Bustos ’20 was an exceptional student in the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics. He triple majored in accountancy, finance, and business administration (Honors) and received the Wolfson Scholar Award, the university’s top award given to a graduating senior each year. He consistently credits scholarship support that helped free up additional time to study more, pursue internship opportunities, and take on leadership positions with various clubs and organizations.
As an undergraduate, Bustos served as the President of the Business Honors Association and helped to connect Business Honors students with distinguished alumni across different careers tracks. He also worked closely with faculty in the Nazarian College Department of Management and contributed to the CSU Big Data project “CalStatePays,” which tracked the earnings of graduates of six Los Angeles-area CSU campuses, and helped families determine the return on investment of various potential career tracks.
Since 2019, Bustos has worked as a private equity associate at Oceanview Capital Partners, Inc., a private equity and advisory firm in Glendale. He specializes in both financial advisory and portfolio company operations of Oceanview’s various healthcare portfolio companies.
To date, Bustos has made over $10,000 in gifts to CSUN and has created the Bustos Family Scholarship to invest in the next generation of Nazarian College students and provide them with the same type of support that he was fortunate to have during his time as a student.
