Member-supported 88.5-FM, The SoCal Sound, is the newest affiliate of the public radio organization VuHaus Group. The SoCal Sound’s local page now appears on the NPR Live Sessions website with their unique, local, and engaging music video content.
The SoCal Sound joins the most influential public media outlets with a shared mission to support emerging and local artists. Formed in 2014, VuHaus Group is public media’s only national content and sales network for music stations.
“We’re extremely proud and excited to be a part of such a respected organization,” said The SoCal Sound General Manager Patrick Osburn. “We have a lot of top-notch video content to add to VuHaus Group’s already impressive roster and are thrilled to be joining their network of highly respected public media outlets!”
One major goal of The SoCal Sound is to introduce emerging and established artists to new audiences. Providing a national platform for local station content offers a window into regional music scenes, said The SoCal Sound Program Director Marc “Mookie” Kaczor.
“Joining VuHaus is an exciting milestone for The SoCal Sound,” Kaczor said. “It means our video content will reach a much broader audience through public radio’s premier music video platform. We’re proud to add Southern California’s voice and sound to this collaborative network.”
