Chemistry master’s student Samantha “Sammie” Ellis and undergraduate astrophysics major Jesus Poblano recently received one of the most competitive and prestigious awards for students in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP).

Of the more than 4,000 graduates invited to take part in CSUN’s Honors Convocation on Saturday, May 9, six people will be singled out for special recognition as outstanding graduating students.

The Sascha Brastoff Foundation recently created endowments devoted to scholarships and program expenses for CSUN ceramics students.
