Station officials invite music lovers to a special night that will directly benefit The SoCal Sound and celebrate women in music during International Women’s Month. The event will be held at the iconic Hotel Cafe, a well-known Hollywood music venue that has hosted countless singer/songwriters over the past 25 years.
“The Hotel Cafe has been a cornerstone for musicians in Hollywood for years, nurturing talent and providing a space where real connections happen,” program director Marc “Mookie” Kaczor said. “This event isn’t just a show. It’s a powerful reminder of why community-supported radio matters. Together, we’re building something special that keeps great music thriving in SoCal.”
The lineup performers include Bebe Stockwell, paer, Chelsea Nenni of Late Slip, Sharon Silva, Zoe Kilgren, Rae Isla, Kendall Jane Meade, Shannon Shaw of Shannon & The Clams, Queen Anne, Blondfire, Jamie Drake, Ali Angel, Nia Ashleigh, Karin Ann and Natalie Closner a member of Joseph. Each artist will perform one original song and one cover.
The SoCal Sound Music Director Julie Slater called the concert “a great way to celebrate International Women’s Month then with lady rock,”
“I grew up admiring the strength of artists like PJ Harvey, Alanis Morissette, and Annie Lennox,” Slater said. “They showed us women can be bold, creative, and command a stage like no other.”
With recent critical funding cuts, events like these are vital to keeping member-supported stations alive and championing world class artists, Kaczor said.
