Welcome back, Matadors! Monday, August 24 was the first weekday of the 2026-2027 academic year, and as always, students brought their first week of school energy back to campus — even in a triple-digit heat wave. Volunteers with the CSUN Navigators were out in force, ready to give directions and encouraging words to our new students and anyone needing a helping hand. This year, CSUN welcomes more than 37,000 new and returning students back to class.

A few tips: Don’t forget to check out the University Student Union calendar for fun things to do, especially during the first few weeks of the semester. Meet the Clubs takes over the quads and the University Library Lawn on September 8 and 9. Stay on top of important deadlines with the student academic calendars. Now, check out the photos from the first Monday of classes.
