As we sprint to the end of the semester, schedules seem suddenly packed with late-night study sessions, exams, last-minute projects and the excitement and logistics of commencement season. Keep calm, Matadors! CSUN Newsroom is here to help you stay on top of it all. Pro tip: Bookmark this: the Student Academic Calendar is your guide. Here are some highlights:

May 2 and 3: Last weekend classes.

May 8: Last day of formal instruction.

May 9 to 15: Final exams.

April 29 to May 14: Crunch Time finals activities in the USU.

May 5: Extended study hours for finals begin at the University Library. *Don’t forget to check out finals events happening at the library— keep an eye on the the library’s Instagram account to find out more about activities.

May 9: Honors Convocation.

May 15 to 18: Commencement ceremonies (see more information, below).

May 22: Last official day of the spring 2026 semester.

May 25: Memorial Day holiday. Campus is closed.

May 26: Summer term begins.

The CSUN Commencement and Bachelor’s Degree Application and Document Deadlines pages can keep you on track.

Pre-ordered caps, gowns and regalia in-store pickup: begins May 4 during Campus Store hours.

Caps, gowns and regalia rental (not pre-ordered): Available in-store only starting May 5.

The commencement ceremonies page includes dates and times of ceremonies by college, as well as numerous cultural celebrations, such as Black Graduation, Rainbow Graduation, Veteran Graduation, Undocu-Graduation and hooding ceremonies for master’s and doctoral graduates.
