Continuing a legacy of support she began more than a decade ago with her husband, David, Gita Kronen recently pledged a gift for scholarships for the CSUN Honors String Quartet.

The new gift provides scholarships for each member of the quartet — two violinists, a cellist and a violist. Members are selected each year through an audition process and perform at various events on campus and in the community.

In 1993, David and Gita Kronen founded the Chatsworth-based company Bone Clones, which makes precise, museum-quality replicas of human and animal skeletons for educational purposes in a variety of disciplines. Gita continued to run the company after David’s passing in 2022 until recently, when she sold the business to a group of employees.

The couple’s love of music, and the excellence of CSUN’s Honors String Quartet, inspired their support for the student musicians.
